Signs of a maturing industry (22/01/07)

The recent ATSCo IT Forum, chaired by Alex Charles from SkillsMarket, proved just how the industry has matured over the last few years with job boards and agencies meeting to discuss common strategic interests.

The following leading job boards attended the forum to discuss how they could work with agencies to help them achieve common goals:

• Robbie Cowling, Managing Director of Jobserve
• Mike Wall, Sales Director at Jobsite
• Richard Nott, Website Director at CWJobs.

Alex Charles, Product Director of SkillsMarket, commented: “There was a good spirit of co-operation between both the job boards and agencies at the IT Forum. This was a clear sign of a maturing industry as I don’t believe it would have been possible for these companies to discuss their issues so openly a few years ago. HR-XML was also discussed as a possible solution to enable both job boards and agencies to achieve a tighter integration and workflow.”

The forum also provided agencies with an opportunity to gain an insight on how job boards viewed social networking sites and clarification on data ownership.
